The H Plus Son Archetype is wonderful rim to build with and ride. It is wide for a start and tyres take up a wider profile this always helps so long as you clearence.

The above build is with Miche Fixed gear hubs the rims used are grey and the spokes are Sapim Race. I forgot to record the weight but the rims are 480g each and 64 sapim Race spokes and brass nipples in the 286mm length are 460g. The hubs being the large flange variety are over 500g/pair. If I remember right the rear was 1044g without tape but with track nuts

The rims are very round and it impossible to feel were the rim has been welded. I suspect H plus Son have used electron beam welding to join the rim. All archetype rims seem to be very consitant, they all build up with even tension (+/-5%) and radial runout of les than 0.3mm and lateral runout of 0.1-0.15mm is very possible every time. They really are as good as there reputation suggests.

The rims are avialble in black, slate grey and polished silver. The slate grey and black have anodised brake track which will wear of. The black is available in 20H, 24H, 28H, 32H and 36H, Grey in 24H, 28H, 36H and silver in 28H, 32H, 36H.

Some more pics of the archetype build with Miche Primato hubs Shimano Dura Ace 9000 and my favourite Campagnolo Record.
